Requirements to becoming a full member of this board
#1
Hi

Welcome .!!Smile

The Wollongong Amateur Astronomy Club user group - Sharing astronomy experience and knowledge in a friendly social environment.

The W.A.A.C. was formed by five active observers in April, 1999.

We are based in Wollongong, a city of approximately a quarter of a million people 80 km south of the much larger city of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.

Club Membership: $35 per year (This includes liability insurance)
Meetings: these are held on the first Thursday of every month at the Unanderra Community Centre.

These are generally very informal events where recent and upcoming events are discussed.

They are the best opportunity for people new to the hobby of Amateur Astronomy to ask questions.

Our members are very friendly and willing to help newcomers. Some telescopes would usually be available for viewing if the night is clear.

Occasionally a guest speaker may be invited or some members will give a presentation on various aspects of astronomy.

Our members vary from purely visual observers to dedicated astroimagers using sophisticated computer control telescopes and DSLR / CCD cameras.

We assist the UOW each year with their Astronomy Student assignment and practical at our local observing site.

The Wollongong Amateur Astronomy Club welcomes visitors, either experienced observers or beginners.

As a guest on this board you have very limited access .

To become full member of this board if you live within 100km of Unanderra requires the following

1. Verification of identity and living location and
2. Being a financial member of the Wollongong Amateur astronomy club.(restrictions apply on some web functions if your not financial)
3. Restricted membership can be applied for.

If you live outside the 100km zone then full membership may be granted upon discussion.

The club committee however reserves the right , in special circumstances, to grant full membership without meeting all of these requirements..Smile
